Decisions, Decisions...

Why is that I can see something and just know straight away if I love it or not, but only if I'm not buying it for anything in particular. But as soon as I have something, an event, that I need to buy an outfit for, I totally freeze! Well, thankfully, social media to the rescue!

Just posted a picture of the dress I took THREE months to find (totally picky) onto Facebook , and WELLA, got great advice on what shoes would match it. Also (to begin with) was able to take pics of said dress and email to darling husband to get his input, while I'm trying them on and he is at work (don't panic, it is his own business!).

Picked out a couple of shoes - connected them to Facebook, and BOOM - decision made! Awesome buddies - thank you so much :) Even got advice from my sister-in-law in Australia - how great is that! I love it :)

So looks like I'm set and it only took about 4 or 5 or 6 weeks to do it :)

Spring yet??

I don't know if it is in protest over the recent icy/snowy/freezing cold weather or because my 4 year old keeps walking around saying "Is it Spring yet?", but I went and did some on-line shopping today for Spring (because Gods knows I'm not going to actually venture outside today. He knows I'm not that crazy, or desperate, or have severe cabin-fever...um, right?)

I love this - very cute, love the color combinations:

I'm totally loving stripes at the moment. It started before winter and continues. Here are a few things I bought today from Old Navy:

I still love these looks from Anthropologie:

Well, according to news, Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn on Groundhog Day to make his 125th annual weather forecast in front of a smaller-than-usual crowd in rural Pennsylvania. It was a muddy, icy day when the groundhogs handlers reveal that he had not seen his shadow. So that means an early Spring!! Yeah :)

Decorating Spaces Giveaway

Decorating Spaces is having a giveaway - head over there to check it out and her great blog!

The key to my heart...

Stuck inside for the third day due to huge ice storm here in North Texas!! We have made a tent, had lunch inside it, read lots of books, started Valentines, and painted lots of beautiful paintings.

But today it was my turn to do a craft! This was my inspiration (not 100% sure where this came from - Jones Design Company?? Please let me know if you know!) Found the source of this image - My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia:

For my Restoration Hardware inspired (kids/spare) bathroom:

Here is my version:

I purchased the frame from Goodwill for $3 (and was very surprised when I got home to find it had the glass in it - I thought it just had the cardboard backing). I purchased some burlap from Hobby Lobby, the keys came from Urban Farmgirl's Etsy Store and I already had the mounting (probably purchased from Hobby Lobby or Joann). I just stapled the material onto the cardboard and hot glued the key onto the material, put it all back into the frame, and WELLA! All up it probably cost me about $10 to make (if that!). AWESOME :)

Still a few little things to do in there, like line the laundry basket and get one more knob for the cupboard (pretty pink "glass" ones from Hobby Lobby), and maybe a white cabinet to go by the sink for more storage, but so close and it looks lovely :)

Behind closed doors

The Closet.

The forgotten room.

Big or small you can decorate your closet space so it inspires you. An organized closet will make you happy. A beautiful organized closet will make you want to get up in the morning, get dressed, ready to take on the world!!

I am really looking forward to dressing up my tiny little closet. Here is my inspiration, and some more ideas to get you inspired.
I LOVE LOVE this dressing area SO MUCH. I have been on the hunt for vintage fashion illustrations for over two months! I love the wallpaper too.

In lieu of illustrations I stumbled upon a very small black & white photo poster with the name Henry Clarke on it, so I went and googled him. First image I found has been an image I have been carrying around for EVER! I love love love this image so much. So classy, so beautiful. So I changed my direction a little and think I will go for framed black & white fashion photographs.

Other images:
My space is just big enough for a tiny little stool to sit on and contemplate what to wear.

I also need a pretty mirror on the wall - love the detail here.

Colors will include the blue I'm using in my bedroom, the soft gold from the bathroom and a deep chocolate brown. So wouldn't this rug be perfect!

Oh, and a little chandelier (love this closet too - so pretty).

Here are some more beautiful examples - some modest, some to dream the day away with! Enjoy :)

Eva Longoria's closet.

Mariah Carey's shoe closet - now that is an organized woman! I'm having some serious shoe envy too!

The Mess Issue

This is our playroom/my office - the room we spend most of our time in. It is also the messiest room in our house and I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

What do you do with all your mess? Trying to come up with storage solutions that work for a two year old and four year old, plus a 30+ year old (OK nearly 40 but don't go there!!) is tough! My desk drives me crazy. It is huge, which I love because I can spread my stuff around. But then that is also what drives me crazy about it - it is huge and I can accumulate all my stuff on there, then eventually there is just a tiny little alley way to my keyboard, with huge mountains of paperwork on either side. I also despise filing! Ugghh. Can never find anything, etc, etc...

So conclusion is I must do something with this room - NOW!

Ice (and a little snow) day here today. The kids are bundled up on the couch watching Noddy. Husband shut up in his office working. So what a perfect chance...I guess I had better go :)

Heart beats...

I think my heart beats faster whenever I'm in an Anthroplogie store.

Found some lovely items today for the lake cabin, and found some great ideas I need to work on, like these GORGEOUS cushions!

Also saw a lamp shade in newspaper print and I loved it. Now, come on, how easy would that be to do :)

Man, I have so many ideas swimming in my head at the moment - it's crazy.
